SUMMER MERCATO : THE WEEKLY UPDATE

It’s time for the traditional weekly update on the summer mercato! FootSider details all the departures and arrivals of this end of July!

LEAGUE 1

This Tuesday, PSG published a video on social networks to announce the arrival of Nordi Mukiele in the capital. The 24-year-old French defender returns to Ligue 1 after four seasons with Leipzig in the Bundesliga. PSG managed to find a deal for 10 M€ + bonus. In addition, the payment is spread over 4 years. For his part, Mukiele is tied to the capital club until June 2027.

The arrival of Nicolás Tagliafico (Ajax Amsterdam – Argentine international), recruited for 4.2 million euros, has been made official by Olympique Lyonnais. The left-back has committed himself to the club until 2025.

The Polish Mateusz Wieteska, 25, joined Clermont Foot from Legia Warsaw. He signed a four-year contract with the Auvergne club and is now tied to the club until 2026. The central defender leaves his native country and his training club for the first time in his career. Wieteska played 144 games in the Polish first division and wore the captain’s armband.

PREMIER LEAGUE

Paris Saint-Germain has long been interested in signing Gianluca Scamacca. The Red and Blue even had an agreement with the player. But the demands of Sassuolo made the capital club back down. The latter did not want to offer more than 40 million euros, while the Serie A team demanded 50 million euros. West Ham finally bought Scamacca for 36 million euros, plus 6 million in bonuses and 10% on a possible capital gain. The Italian has signed a five-year contract – until June 2027 – with the Hammers and will wear the number 7.

Sékou Mara, a 19 year old striker, has signed his contract with Southampton for five years until 2027. He leaves Bordeaux after two seasons with the professional team and will allow the Girondins to recover a budget of about 13 million euros, including bonuses.

LA LIGA SANTANDER

After nine seasons in Serie A, Jose Callejon returned to Spain. Without a club since his free departure from Fiorentina, where he has been playing for two seasons, the 35-year-old former Napoli striker has joined Granada FC in the Spanish second division for one season.

BUNDESLIGA

His departure from Stade Rennais was certain, and the arrival of Mathys Tel at Bayern Munich is now official. The Bavarian club announced the signing of the 17-year-old French player for five years. The transfer price is around 28.5 million euros (including bonuses). The promising young player will wear the number 39 jersey.

OTHER CHAMPIONSHIPS

Dani Alves, the 39-year-old former Barcelona fullback, has officially signed with the Mexican first division club Pumas. The signing of the Brazilian was made official last Saturday (23/07) by the Pumas, currently 8th in the Mexican Championship.

Last Tuesday, Luis Suarez announced that he had reached an agreement with Nacional, the club with which he discovered the professional world in Uruguay at the age of 18. Free to sign wherever he wants since his departure from Atletico Madrid, the 35-year-old striker will sign a minimum three-month contract. Thanks to this, he will be able to stay in shape for his last World Cup, which will be held in November in Qatar.
