SOCCER TUTORIALS : BENOÎT DUVAL, GOALKEEPERS COACH – PAU F.C

For a few weeks now, we have launched the Footsider application. Our application, whose main objective is to connect players and clubs, also offers you, via a specific tab, advice from soccer professionals. These “soccer tutorials” as we like to call them, are an opportunity to address specific issues. They allow players, regardless of their level, to benefit from the experience of professional players or trainers.

Today, we would like to introduce you to Benoit Duval, goalkeeper coach of Pau FC (Ligue 2). In this interview, he tells us about his professional and soccer career, which has been full of pitfalls, before talking about the strengths of the position, as well as its limitations. The entire video and tips can be found exclusively on the Footsider app!

A PATH STREWN WITH PITFALLS…

Benoit Duval has been at the heart of soccer since he was very young. This expert in the position of goalkeeper made his debut at Boulogne-sur-Mer FC before joining the training center of R.C Lens, where he was able to play in the U15 and U17 National. After a brief stint as a professional player, Benoit was finally forced to give up his dreams. Physical problems, including several injuries, forced him to stay away from the field for a while.

But that didn’t stop him from bouncing back! Today, he has been coaching the goalkeepers of the professional team of Pau FC, which is playing in Ligue 2, for 2 years now. Beyond his journey, it is really his feedback that Benoit shares with you. This will allow you to avoid repeating the same mistakes, and thus reach the ultimate dream: to become a professional footballer one day.
